It goes without saying that food and drink is cheaper in
supermarkets: a litre of wine costs as little as EUR 2.50,
a can of beer from EUR 0.50, a loaf of bread approx. EUR 1.50

Various cultural events, sports centres, shops and public
transport options offer student discounts.
Many language schools, too, have special deals with local
services - it is always worth asking.
Rental Costs in Vienna
The norm here in Vienna is apartment living. There are obviously
houses available, however they tend to be located towards
the outskirts of the city. Rental costs are generally calculated
from metre squarage with a general price per square metre
assigned depending on the quality of the apartment and the
distirct it is in.
Hotel / Apartment Costs in Vienna
Like any large city, Vienna has a plentiful number of accommodation
options at all price levels. Apartments are the cheapest option
and especially useful if you are planning a longer stay. Hotels
range from the basic and inexpenisve to the luxurious and
exorbitant. A 3* hotel in a central district can be found
for between €50-80. A 4* Star property ranges in price
from €90-120 and then 5* Hotels are without limit.
